He aha te mea nui o te ao?

What is the most important thing in the world?

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata

It is the people, it is the people, it is the people

We are excited to welcome your whānau and the enrolment of your tamariki at Stoke School.

We are zoned currently, and we encourage cohort enrolments for 5-year-olds.

Our school Kowhaiwhai (logo), represents our beliefs in:

 1.  Whanau (Family): A sense of belonging is vital to your child’s success. At Stoke School we welcome you and your whole family. Your child is the maroon part of our koru, they are at the centre of all we do.
2.   Kotahitanga (Partnership):  As your child’s first teacher we value your contribution and participation in working towards your child social and academic success. You are the blue part of our koru, the umbrella for all the work we do. We are guided by a shared understanding of beliefs and values.
3.  Kaupapa (Rules): We have 3 guiding rules throughout our school; Respect, Responsibility and Safety. These rules have been developed over time with input from both staff and students. We provide a reward system which aims to encourage an intrinsically motivated community of learners. As staff, we are the yellow part of the koru. We work to unite all the beliefs and values, the good teaching practice to provide valuable learning and high-level outcomes with equity for all learners. It is our job to partner with you and your child.

Our Vision:

Is expressed in our school song and haka:

“Tū Iti Tū Tonu Mai”

This speaks about everyone being proud of who we are, being humble and striving to achieve the best we can in everything we do.
